Radar Archive 08/11/2005 KBLX

August 11 2005 a severe thunderstorm passed through the Molt Montana Area - where my parents currently live and where me and my family lived at the time. I have been playing a lot with GR Level software for the last few weeks and pulled the archived level II information

the storm produced golf-ball sized hail, which damaged 3 of our vehicles, 1 which was totaled, it also damaged our snowmobile trailer and our camp trailer.

There was never any confirmed damage from the tornado itself. the tornado was very unusual looking, the tornado had picked up smoke and ash from a grass fire that started from a previous cell, giving it an unusual color. man I wish I had a camera.

One of the features of GR Level2ae allows you to view the storm in 3d

This image shows the velocity to or away from the radar.

This image shows the rotation within the cell.
