Back from the chase.
We made it back in one piece, the car has several new dents on the hood and the top from the 2-3 inch hail we encountered near Billings Oklahoma. we had a great time and got to see amazing tornado and an insane funnel cloud that we found out later was in fact on the ground and was in the process of taking out a Casino. we will still be chasing and streaming live video at www.tornadovideos.net/live on a more local basis. keep a lookout for us :D

Mini Chase 04/18/2010
Had some small cells popping up in South Central Montana, even a couple with Radar indicated 40%+ chance of Severe hail. I decided to head out and track along with a couple of the smaller cells I could catch up to.. didn't expect to see anything to interesting but did get to see some pretty Mammatus Cloud's, some beautiful rain/squall lines and Rainbows. also gave a good chance to test out the streaming equipment in a real chase scenario. it all worked well as expected..

Radar Archive 08/11/2005 KBLX
August 11 2005 a severe thunderstorm passed through the Molt Montana Area - where my parents currently live and where me and my family lived at the time. I have been playing a lot with GR Level software for the last few weeks and pulled the archived level II information
the storm produced golf-ball sized hail, which damaged 3 of our vehicles, 1 which was totaled, it also damaged our snowmobile trailer and our camp trailer.
There was never any confirmed damage from the tornado itself. the tornado was very unusual looking, the tornado had picked up smoke and ash from a grass fire that started from a previous cell, giving it an unusual color. man I wish I had a camera.

One of the features of GR Level2ae allows you to view the storm in 3d

This image shows the velocity to or away from the radar.

This image shows the rotation within the cell.
